want to put aftermarket stereo sat nav etc

Featured Replies

Whatever you do dont buy these cheap chinese units, they really are poor quality. Just look through the forum and you'll find many who have tried, got burnt, lost money and more. Save your money and buy something from a high street brand like Alpine or Pioneer.

Here is one such thread.

i know i would not really buy these but have seen some ok reviews on some of them units also that it looks oem when in dash , i already have a jvc/satnav double din unit at home but think it wont look that good as it would stick out , i might just try it out but are there issues with no sound something about the oem amp ?

or do i just need the iso adapter?

nik

You should be fine for audio with the stream as a starting point as that only used its internal amp.

ok so to connect my jvc i would only need a skoda iso lead and should all work ok?

indeed, you'll need a quadlock to ISO connection for the JVC, and possibly a Fakra to ISO adapter for the aerial.

One thing to remember with the octy2 is that there is no switched 12V power supply behind the existing radio, as the factory headunits are controlled via canbus so don't need it. To get the switched supply you'll need to run a wire to the fusebox, otherwise if you leave it with 2 always on 12V supplies you could come back to a flat battery.
