Hi I have a octy vrs tdi i have been told that the diaphragm in the vacuum solenoid has gone.

It is a black plastic thing by the alternator does anyone know the part number ?

I need as some help as the car seems to have lost power.

Need some more info, maybe a pic of the offending part.

It sounds like the EGR diaphragm to me, they quite often split. This isn't the solenoid for it though so I think your getting confused.

Tech1 i think your right . Is in a black plastic part with a rod that goes behind the can belt cover if so do you know the part number so i can get it replaced.

Is the egr diaphragm easy to change?

Are u talking about exhaust pressure sensor by any chance?

Alternator i thick it works like a vacuum there is a black pipe on it that goes to a sensor switch.

Is there a diaphraim in it that could split?
