Tyre Dressings

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend a good tyre dressing ?other than these aerosol based ones like Tyre Slik. I have used these although good but go everywhere and attract dirt to stick to your wheels etc. I'm just after one you can apply with a cloth or sponge.

When I had my Octy I used to use Chemical Guys New Look Trim Gel.

This had a multitude of uses including tyres and black plastic trim. Still using it now on the Superb as it offers great VFM.

Autoglym Tyre Dressing

+1 for CGs New look Trim gel.

And a +1 for Autoglym! Spray on, walk away!

I'd go for Gtechniq T1 ;)

Me too. Lasts well, easy to use and as coops said, can be used for more than 1 thing.

I use it on my splitter, doorhandles, wiper scuttle, grille fins, and rub strips as well as my tyres.

A little goes a long way. Works best with a proper tyre dress applicator. I use the Meguiars one.

I use the meguirs tyre gel (purple in colour if theres more than one).... lasts well and smells nice too :)

just looked online its -

Meguiars Endurance High Gloss Tyre Protection

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.I will look around for these at the weekend.Just want something better than aerosol stuff and an easy application on the tyre and not everything else too :giggle:

Always use Autoglym products so i,ll look into that and the others mentioned

Wonder Wheels by Carplan.

Comes in a bottle with a 'spongy' applicator.

Bit like the instant shoe shine bottle.

Works well.

Autoglym Tyre dressing / Rubber and Vinyl Care.

I wasn't bowled over when i first got it as i was applying with a sponge, which seems to have been detrimental to the effect. Recently I've been spraying a fair old amount directly onto the tyre, and as above, walking away - results are really good shine that lasts well between washes

I've just bought the the muc-off Tyre dressing that's much better than the meguirs stuff both smell nice, the muc-off smells of apples!

Auto Glym fan here.

Spray on, leave to dwell and wipe the wheel off after (if you over spray). I've read a few people de-canting into a jam jar and applying with a brush to save wastage.

Tyres don't stay shiney after a wash but they do stay black for a good few weeks :)

I use Poor Boys Trim restorer and that works well.

+1 for Megs. Its also brilliant for the bump strips and keeps them nice and black till the next wash.

+ 1 for Auto glym. Very impressed with all there products. I use use the tyre dressing in the engine bay, wing mirrors, black side strips as well as the tyres and it's really good.

Had a bottle of Auto glym engine degreaser for xmas and found it also has many uses. It made short work of cleaning the underside of my dirty door sills , front and rear suspension, any paint work with tar spots. It even cleaned oil off my drive way after a little spillage!
