Is it possible to limit the angle that the Octavia hatchback bootlid opens? I park daily in a multi-storey car park and it opens just a bit too far - often if I'm opening it, it will be with one hand holding stuff, so it is tricky to open and catch the inside handle with the same hand (and there's a risk of missing the handle and accidentally pushing it open even faster!). Not yet crashed it into the ceiling but it feels like a matter of time.

Also has anyone found any tricks for not getting your hands filthy - this never seemed to be a problem on my last car! (Am I right in thinking there is no way of popping the boot open remotely - you have to use the outside handle?)

Shorter struts could possibly do the trick.

As a temporary measure you could hook a measured length of rope through the loop in the handle (iirc there's a hole in the bottom bit) and a fastening point on the right hand side of the boot floor.

There is 3 buttons on the key fob and the middle one is to unlock the tailgate but obviously you have to lift it.

Press and hold the boot button on the key fob, but this will only release the latch, you will still have to lift it as said earlier.

You could search for auto boot opening you will find quite a clever solution
