Good price for repspraying front and back doors?

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

On my passenger side front door I've got a chip the size of a penny which has been filled with touch up paint. There are also some scratches on the B pillar, covered with the same touch up paint, and the same on the rear B pillar.

Anyway, they look ugly so I've decided to do something about them, or at least get someone else to do them :)

I took the car to C'n'C Coachworks in Walthamstow. The bloke was really friendly and said they'd do the two doors, above the bump strips, and the pillars for £260. Is this a good price? I've never had bodywork done before so have no idea.

He was saying they recommend doing the two doors to get the blending right, which made sense to me. He was also saying I could probably get a chip repairer to do it cheaper but it might not look perfect. I did actually get Chips Away to look at it a while back and they quoted £278, so not cheaper.

What do you knowledgeable peeps think? I'm not after perfection but I also don't want a patch that looks a different shade/colour to the rest of the car.

Cheers

Yep £260 about right, usually £100 a door blowing in at pillars but you need yours fully painted, hence the extra couple of quid.

Cheers Funky Fab. He needs the car for 3 days to do it but I don't use it in the week anyway so that's OK. I might go for it
