best tyres to fit

Featured Replies

Falken 452 for me. Have you had a look at camskill? they're usually cheaper.

I've decided I'm gonna try neutons this time round 137 delivered from lovetyres, the Saab guys rave about them

I have falkens on my Vectra V6 they are awesome for my driving style. i am hard on my tyres but i got a whopping 25k out of one set of these already on 13 k on my second set and only half way through.

My mates a tyre fitter and said to me if you want your tyres to last dont bother with the toyo's.... dont get him wrong they are cracking but dont suit my driving he reckons i would only get about 10k for me. but i am hard on cornering, we have too many roundabouts and sweeping corners in Andover.

I've heard the Hankook Ventus S1 evos are up there with the Michelin Pilots and Conti Sport Contact tyres, they would be my choice. Might also be worth looking at the Falken FK453s?

I had two Hankook Ventus Prime 2s fitted to the front of mine a few weeks back and am very happy with them for the price (£180 ish for the pair from Camskill). Previously had Goodyear Efficientgrips on the front. I think the Goodyears have slightly stiffer sidewalls (better steering response) than the Hankooks.

I have Michelin's on the Skoda, they are ok, but they seem to have gone off a bit, take time to warm up and get better once warm. wouldn't have them again. If i could afford it i would Gooyears, the conti's or even have a crack at the newer falken's as i have fk452's. Just to get rid of these Michelin's.

Etyres.co.uk deliver and fit at your home or work place. Good prices I'd say. I've linked the falkens I had fitted but the price must of gone up a little. I paid £93 at the time about a month ago. Worth a butchers at least as its within your budget.

Good luck

I used to have pirelli's p6000's on my 1ltr charade, went through a full set in a month, i loved them when i was 17 but too soft for me an feel the falkens were better all round.

......and guess which ones I like

I have Hankook V12's all round, cannot fault them.

I just rotated them (waited a bit long TBH) and they have 28,000km on them and are only half worn on the front and a 1/4 on the back.

I wouldnt be the hardest on tyres, however I do like to take roundabouts at speed and they have coped well. Also, no bubbles/bulges or cuts despite some of the crap roads they have been on.

Reasonable price as well.

Having said that I am going to try either continentals or Michelin's next.

change your tyre profile to 215/45/17.

thats what i did, i got 4 hankook v12 evo's for 368 fitted. really impressed with them

goodyear eagle f1 asy 2 are my next port of call heard nothing but good things about them but are a bit pricey,

had bridgestone turanza on before alrite tyre but wouldnt go for them again

Falken 452 £98.10 fitted on Blackcircles.
