0w-30 or 5w-30 on a 1.9 tdi 130 bhp question

Featured Replies

Now my car is a late 2004 130 bhp turbo diesel , up to a couple of years ago , it was always serviced on the 0w-30 vw 506.1 oil which i know was correct , Then all the services and VW recomendations came up as the new 5w-30 507 spec which is backwards compatable . So the Question is do i go back to the 506.1 oil which is now cheaper than the 507 , can i mix and use both , or should i stick as i have over the last 2 services with the 5w-30 507 , spec says it is specific for cars with DPF and obviously my 1.9 will not have one . in a quandrum Mix , Fix on 1 type or stay with whats been used for the last 30k miles ie 507 spec . Thanks

I use 5w-30 in mine. Runs peachy.

just use 507 - it covers you and is not a huge cost increase
