Warning Light - ABS problem?

Hi all,

Please take a look at the VCDS trace below - does this look like bad news? Seems to be an ABS sensor problem, I'm guessing the AWD problem might be a red-herring? I'm getting the "skidding" warning light on the dash:

Oh dear, the address 03 tells us all we need to know, you have the dreaded G201 pressure sensor failure. Luckily there is now a rebuild kit available, makes a change from the £1000+ people have been quoted for ABS pump replacement. Do a search on here and you should find a thread about it somewhere, in the Octavia section I think.

Your abs and esp probably won't be working.

Iirc the original fix was a replacement at well over a grand but I believe a repair kit is now available which brings the cost down to around £400 or £500.

All depends if the OP is willing to take it to court or not. Skoda will not admit that there is an inherrent fault - the only way you can claim at 4-6 years.

The OP can take it to court and use the evidence of others having the same issue - if he's lucky he'll be able to set a presedence, if not then he'll get nothing.

Nobody's taken it to court yet.

They aren't the supplying dealer - I'm in Swansea, I bought the car in Southampton and the last I heard, they went out of business!

I could push for FOC and/or go the court route, but given the fact that they could have just told me to sod off altogether, I think I'll quit while I'm relatively ahead.

Not sure what 50% labour will be, but it's going to cost a lot less than 100%

If the warning light comes on approx 10 mins after you start the engine then it is the Load Signal Cable from the alternator that is broken.

(I should add, from my own experience: based upon a similar story of a Seat)

FYI - I have had my money refunded by VW for a previous repair.

Some on the Facebook page for the MK60 issue have had it refunded even after getting the repair done at an independent.

Seems VW finally seeing the light.

Even when I got mine done VW and Audi were paying in full up to 5 years, just Skoda and Seat left out in the cold, that is why Seat came up with their fix kit
