Octavia Scout (or 4x4) 140PD DPF Removal

Featured Replies

Hi,

considering DPF removal and remap for my Scout. I've had a quote of £450 from Eco power tuning.(they will remove the innards and reweld) Whilst they have done several Vag 140ps's they have't done an Octy 4x4 or Scout.

Just wondering if the DPF removal is more complicated on the 4x4? If it is I would prefer to pay a bit more with a tuner that has plenty of experience.

Thanks,

Mark

Physically it's different, also the 140 is an 8v engine where as the 170 is a 16v

Hi,

thanks for your reply. Would the 4x4 system be more awkward to work around compared to a 2wd 140pd estate. I seem to remember a thread saying so but I can't find it.

Has anyone with a Scout or 4x4 had the dpf removed and if so have there been any problems?

Cheers,

Mark

I could be wrong but I thought I'd remembered reading a DPF delete on the 4x4 was more complicated as there are additional components that need removing in order to gain access.

Yep, had it done, totally transforms the car.

Downside is the transfer box has to come off & the steering rack has to be dropped to get the downpipe off, add in a retrack as well.

Jabba did mine & Im really happy with it but they wont do it for £450 knowing what they now know

We've done several PD140 4x4s and are based in Mansfield, for the 4x4 we charge £499 inc VAT for Stage 0 DPF removal (i.e. DPF removal but no major increase in power) and £719 inc VAT for Stage 1 DPF removal with power increase. It sounds like we're a little more expensive but do have the experience with the mechanicals and the tuning (the PD140 4x4 DPF uses a different ECU to the more common PD170).

Slight hijack. What does the dpf and remap take the output to?

The Scout with a DPF has smaller injectors as std than the normal 140 as well I believe :wall:

With ours the power increase as a headline figure wasnt a lot but it is so much more driveable, the mapped in lag to save the DPF is removed as well. If you have a DPF'd Scout with the PD engine you will notice a slight lag when you press the loud pedal quickly, also evident in upward changes when pushing on, feels like turbolag but its in the stock map where diesel is introduced in a graded manner to save swamping the DPF with soot. The std turbo is so piddly lag shouldnt be a problem. If you have the CR engine this may be different, havent driven one of those

Thanks, how much would that be with freedom discount?
