awesome-smiley-emoticon.gifAre they 18s x8 on spacers or not, what size of tyres. My fabia is lowered 40mm and would love a set of 18s on and stretched tyres, What size/stretch of tyre would you recommend.

How much stretch you need depends on how much poke you have. . .

How much poke you have depends of the OFFSET of the wheel not just the width. .

You can run 8.5/9j on the rears at a push and 8j max on the front.

40mm lower wouldnt really need stretch, coz youd probably have loads of space left, the idea of running stretch is so theres clearence past the tire and to keep the tire inside the arch. . .again this all depends on offsets and widths. . .

And 18s? . . If you really wanna but they do look pretty much like a roller skate on 18s unless you can get the car very low onto them. .then it might pull it off. .

HTH.

Yo dude thanks for the advice, have a look at this foto of my fabia at the minute its 40mm lower,16" x6.5 rims,205/45 tyres and 20mm spacers on the rear and 15mm up front, 43 offset. IYO if i was after 18s what offset would i be after. Even if a car is not really low i still like the look of stretched tyres. I suppose i should really go for 17s but the devil in me......and you know the rest.!!

You might get away with 18s if its a mk2 fab. . Coz the vrs mk2 comes with 17s as standard so its only inch step up. . Where as mk1s only came with 16. . Hence the step to 17s. .

I presume the wheels were et43 without spacers. . So now that means with 20mm spacers on the back its et23 and with 15mm spacers on the front itll now be et28 . . Spacers make the et drop

www.willtheyfit.com

That will help you work things out as to how wide and what off set 18s would need to be. . .. .put in the offset of the wheels your on now and then find some you like. . And put the details of them in and it will tell you how much more poke your gonna have or how much more inset theyll have. . .obviously with wider wheels youll end up with both poke and inset. . .

As for stretch. . .195s on a 7.5j rim is a nice amount. . Not too much. . But that depends o what profile youd have to run on 18s aswell. . .not much sidewall would mean you cant stretch them as much. . Well you can. . But there are consequences. . Not safe/harsh ride etc.

It all depends how you want it to look and how much comfort you want to sacrifice. . Obviously stretched tire walls means less/no flex. . Harsher ride. .

Do some searches in here regarding 18s and get as much info as you can regarding tire sizes etc. .

But on mk1 fabs its a little bit of an untouched territory. . Ive only ever seen 1 that I liked on 18s. . Rest looked like monster trucks. Haha

i would stay away from 185/35s

if I were you i would put a pair of 195/40s on the front + roll/ camber the rears but keep the 205/40s

I ran 185/35 on 7.5s and they cracked 2 rims (real bbs) because there is no give in them at all when you hit a bump/ pothole and i ran 195/40s on 8.5s and had to use bead sealer to seal so wouldnt recomend putting them on a 9..

What size rear adapters r u running?

15mm all round

Think I will be going for 185 40 front and 195 40 rear

Will I have to re paint after rolling arches
