sai,n112,n249 removal help

Featured Replies

i have done the removal following the guides on the forum, i have removed the hardlines that run from the inlet manifold to the egr valve.

i am left with 2 hoses disconnected, one that looks like its on the fuel rail (breather perhaps?) and the other is the small bore pipe on the turbo inlet.

do these need connecting ? i dont just want to assume they do.

The small bore pipe on the inlet is probably for the suction jet pump under the inlet manifold. It's the pink one just to the left side of the pcv valve.

Ive had a closer look and the pipe leads back to the charcoal canister not the fuel rail. looking at the diagram it leads to the turbo inlet i think. is this correct?

Thanks

Can you take a pic of the hoses you mentioned?

Thing to remember is all vac hoses coming off the manifold should either be blocked off, or be going to something that does need a pressure or vac feed (e.g. brake servo). As long as both those reqs are met the engine will run fine, just you will get CEL lights for the things you have removed (SAI pump etc).

Thanks for the help, all up and running now sai/n112/n249 all removed and no engine managment light on.

i just wish my car would boost! still getting 17705 code coming up and boost limited to 5 psi

ive changed dv too, the only hoses i havent checked are the intercooler hoses.

You can get a smoke test done on the intercooler hoses if there's no visible leak.

The only other things that could be limiting the boost which you haven't mentioned are the map, a faulty N75 and faulty actuator but you wouldn't get the 17705 code with the actuator or the map.

how do you do a smoke test? the actuator is fine ive clamped the hose and it boosts regardless of this error.

im thinking there must be a split hose between the turbo and intercooler, its the only logical explanation.

regarding the n75 i have put another second hand one on and still no joy but as the car has been remapped, im told that the n75 is somehow coded to the ecu/map. is this correct? if so just putting a new valve on still wouldnt work surely

Take it to a garage and they will fill the pressure hoses between the turbo and inlet manifold with coloured smoke and look to see where its leaking out.

Re. The N75 its not "coded" to the map, an N75 is an N75 it just does what the ECU tells it to do (unless its broken). Typically with a remap though the ECU would tell the N75 to open the wastegate later than it would on a standard map so you get higher peak boost.

areet guys , been wantin to do this to mine now for a while , where does the vac pipe off the dumpvalve go to after you have removed all the sai, n249 etc etc

cheers

It goes on the underneath of the inlet manifold were you will have removed the pipe for the n249

ok thanks. ill get it booked in for a leak test
