Good work, if a little slow

Was it a total no-fault claim or will it still affect your premium?

I was reading this without looking at the dates so glad it finally worked out. At least her premium will be screwed :sun:

  • But not stopping is an offence so why arent the police taking action?

  • Why bother claiming for a wing mirror, it will put your premium up next time and you'll have to declare it as an accident for the next 5 years even as a non fault. All for around £100'ish or less to f

No-fault claim.I did tell my insurers several times I would not settle for 50-50, but can't say if that helped.

Brilliant!

Well done for sticking your ground.

It might have taken a while but on principle the result must be very pleasing.

She might think twice about bullying her way through a gap next time.

There are a lot of impatient people about. I'm not the most patient in the world I must admit but I will always stop and give way when I have to.

Driving down the road this afternoon, van parked on opposite side of road half on the pavement, car coming towards me decided to keep coming between me and the parked van.Wing mirrors touch with the result of mine being smashed. She carried on so I turned round and followed her until she eventualy pulled into Asda. When challenged she refused to give insurance details and walked off.I took her reg and went to police station to report it and was told to go through insurance.

Hopefully I win but it has been known that insurers sometimes go knock for knock and I end up losing £150 excess, but surely she has failed to stop after an accident and refused to give details which the police don't seem to be bothered about.

If parked van was on her side of the road and your side was clear you have right of way so she is at fault
