Battery warning light stays on

Featured Replies

Hi!

The battery warning light just came on on my Felicia 1.3 -00.

Voltage on the battery is around 12.6 with ignition off and 13.8-14.0 with engine running. It doesn't go higher even if I rev engine.

As soon as I turn the ignition on voltage drops to around 11.5 right away. I first thought it was the battery so I got it replaced since I had warranty on the old battery but still same thing.

Is it possible its still the regulator?

Any other ideas?

Airbag warning light is also on, but its been like that for 6 months.

Thanks

/Fredrik

Ebay?

Tack för tipsen.

Mvh

Fredrik

Jag köpte min på 24.se iallafall (249kr + frakt). Vet inte riktigt om din behöver can-grejset. Mina Felicior behövde den inte iaf.

Alternater

I changed the voltage regulator today to on called

115 901 253 B, which looked the same as the original but it had an extra cable coming out from it. The extra cable was black and rather short so I assumed it was supposed to go to earth so I attached it to the alternator housing.

Now I get around 13.5 over the battery with engine running. And the battery warning light is still on.

I also noticed that the fuse for the fan had melted (this was before I changed the regulator) so I pulled that one out.

So do I need a new alternator or what do you think, it seem to charge ok...
