Changing engine. 1,3 to 1,6

Featured Replies

Hi,

turned out that our new 1,6l Felicia (1998) has been running without oil for some time. Damn %"&"&"/"!!! youngsters ¤%&%!!!

Ok! Spareparts for this engine is very rare up here in north where i live.... BUT....

I've a spare 1,3l engine in my garage (without gearbox). Can I take this engine and put it in the 1,6l car?

I also have the ecu from the 1,3l engine.

Can I just replace these engines, put in the 1,3 ecu and mount a new hallsensor to the 1,6-gearbox? Is this all?

Ideas please!

I dont want to spend a lot of money on this project. Just enough to get the car running.

ok first question .. is the 1.3 engine MPI or SPI ?

if its MPI then you just need the engine mount, exhaust downpipe + cat,rad and hoses and wiring loom, and throttle cable

you can use the gearbox from the 1.6 and could possibly use the rad if you were happy to make some of the coolant hoses up to fit.

it will sit a bit high with the 1.6 springs but not by much

if its SPI you will need the fuel pump for an SPI to match
