Membership Application

Featured Replies

Our application form was submitted this morning. Membership, in the form of an actual Yeti, should be with us in August/September (but we'll just have to wait and see!).

Welcome to the club

Welcome to the Club, now where do we send the membership bill? :giggle:

And has anyone told you about the initiation ceremony? :notme:

To Skoda UK, I suppose?

Been there, done that, got the 16" wheels to prove it!

Will that include the internal.

Isn't the internal only applicable to variable servicing? Please?!

Sorry, I should have thanked all here who helped me decide to apply for the Yeti club. After the responses to my questions, a couple of PMs and the info I got from Search, there wasn't really any alternative! :hi:

I was a little irritated, with myself, for not finding this forum before my application. Mine went in on 30 March with muttering about Build Week 30; but it will be interesting to see whether I receive mine before you do yours. I understand that the model and specification might affect the waiting time.

I'll post on here when the Build Week is confirmed.

You are ahead of me, it seems, Chris. My order was dated 4 April, with nothing more positive than 'August/September' to look forward too. I think I saw something here about Build Weeks not being officially mentioned during the first month? I'm down for 4x4 and DSG, which it seems is probably the ultimate patience-testing combination.

It will, too, be in the Special Build Club (16" wheels with visible rubber)...

Well, good luck, brijo; we might have to keep each other motivated, although every time I see the Yeti I do feel the urge to own one. However, I don't think that I will have the patience to wait past September since I can get a good deal on the X1.

I've sent a message to Škoda in CZ to ask for the Special Build, but I've had no reply. What steps did you take to organise it?

My initial contact was a personal plea by email to Robert Hazelwood, who may by now have moved to his new VW post. Subsequently, Mark Fox, Customer Relations Manager, Skoda UK, completed the arrangement direct with my dealer.

Well Mark Fox was curiously evasive in our email exchange today. He said that I had to go to my "retailer" who might then contact Customer Services to amend my order. I spoke to Craig at Vindis in Cambridge who did just that but was told that I would have to order a Greenline to have 16" Moon alloys. I reported back to Mark Fox by email and I await his further response . . .

. . . oh and I might have to pay more as prices have increased since my order: I might lose my "protected price".

Sadly, any change in the contact chain can jeopardise an ad-hoc arrangement. I hope you win through. Perhaps, as others have said here, Skoda UK will eventually make some formal way of meeting what seems to be a strong and well-argued customer preference.

Price rises are always a risk in protracted delivery times. Will the X1 have increased by September, too, I wonder?!

Oh what a provocative muse!

Might want to point out the number of UK ‘Special Builds’ that already exist or are in the pipeline and ask him why you are being subjected to 'customer' discrimination

Oh and remind him that it is SUK that deals with 'Special Build' authorisation and not the dealer; old SUK con that one ;)

Best of luck,

TP

Thanks TP; I'll get on it tomorrow. The weather will be poor again so will be on ground and free to call.

Oh you might also point out to him that SUK missed another opportunity to sort this out once and for all, by making Moon alloys and 215/60 an option on the SE and Elegance in the new April brochure.

Be nice if they offered a FOC ‘AllTerrain’ pack of Moon alloys/215 tyres plus RRP in lieu of 17” hard riding sports tyres.

Now there’s a good idea SUK

The sports tyres were the one thing that blotted the Yeti's copybook in the Auto Express survey.

Oh sorry to hear your probably grounded tomorrow

Hi TP and others

In the face of all the alternative special ordering system - otherwise known as the Wee Wheels - I feel I have to state that this contributor is perfectly happy and contented with his seventeen inch rims with his Dunlop Sp1s with the so called sports tyres!!

And have no wish to upgrade or down grade or side-grade into 16" Moonies or whatever!

So, there we are. Another side to this particular coin!

Hi George,

not knocking those who are happy with the 17" set-up; just SUK for not giving the customer the choice. Please remember I have run three of the recommended tyre sizes. Only 205/50 R17 remains untried.

Oh any road going tyre capable of 168mph surely has to be a sports performance tyre or SP :giggle:

Regards as always,

TP

Some progress with our Yeti: The dealer has a Works Order No. and an unconfirmed build date of w/c 23 July (which I calculate as Week 30?). Target delivery was 10 September, so it seems to be on track so far.

How are you doing, Threeshoes?

I see that Threeshoes has found his X1 instead. If you drop by, best wishes!

Did anyone else here order their Yeti in early April?
