Brakes

Featured Replies

im gonna finally get round to doing my brakes now and am thinking(i know yes i am sitting down) would lean cupra r brembos fit on the fabia or some porka boxter brakes anyone got any ideas?

Cupra R brembos do fit and have been done, seen them in the gallery.

But you need 17" wheels of a design that will clear the calipers.

?iid=y21z21&outx=600&quality=70

As a thought how much do the Leon Cupra R brakes go for?

Would be cheaper to buy a set off someone like Bill @ Badger5 than assemble a set for yourself. IIRC sets come at around

I would tbh.

Ive heard there's not a lot in it, just the brembo's are better at higher speeds...

Thanks for that now its time to think do you know if they would be ok with occy vrs wheels or just trial and error

I think there fine with the Octy Wheels :)

btw cheers for the how to i'll let you know how I get on ;)

they WONT fit behind octavia wheels...

not with a fair few MM of spacers on (not reccomended)

As said above... there aint really much in it, and unless your planning on hammering round a track theres no point... a certain person who has brembos recently commented how my 312mms felt better and more controllable ;)

More pots = more stability braking at speed.

Personally I don't think it's worth going to 4 pot brembo's unless your going to go mad and track it a lot. You won't with uprated fluid achieve anything.

This is my view based on others comments and observations. Fluid and pads are king, I can quite happily outbreak 4 pot setups on Subarau's for just as many laps from equal speeds. Your db9's 10pots are there to take it from 170 odd / showmanship imho.

Bill would be best to comment, closest we have to a brake god :D

However I don't doubt that they would help, contradiction? No not really, they would help, but not
