Auto windows from remote

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Something I've always liked the idea of, and got working on my Golf earlier today using my normal VAGCOM lead and some free software and figured it might be of interest to some of you.

It only works on a set number of CCM's using the free someware (although a newer version with more support is on its way), and I was wondering if anyone could get the part number for the Fabia CCM from VAGCOM? If it's 1C0 959 799 then you're good to go and I'll post a link up, otherwise I shan't bother.

Thanks,

Joe

Well...the Fabia I just sold had this as standard. When you open the car with the remote if you hold down the button after the car "click" the windows will roll down. The same with the windows left open, you close the door, press lock button and hold it. The windows will roll up. Mercedes had this for decades on their cars.

Hmmm, mine didn't do this, and I didn't think they did it as standard. I know the Audi's have it enabled by VAG, but don't think the rest of their cars do (my Golf/Polo, the Leons, Ibizas and the B5/B5.5 Passats sure don't).

Unless all the Fabia's do, and mine was an exception?!

I wouldn't say that your car was exception, honestly I just thought that this is a standard on Elegance model (my ex 2002 Fab)

Before moving to Skoda, for years and years I was a Mercedes guy and when I bought my Fabia I never even think about it, I just pressed the button on the remote and it worked... I am sorry if I have confused you but this what it was. My "new" 2003 Fabia estate is a "Comfort" spec so it is a different key so I didn't even try it on this one.

Never heard of this being enabled as standard on a Fabia/Ibiza/polo.

I know on my car and the octavia MK1 it can't be done with VAG COM but needs a serial cable and VDS pro as it has to write directly to the eeeprom which vag com can't do.

I enabled it on mine.

Thats what I was planning to do, use Vds pro, but then I found this software which works with a USB lead, and doesn't need faffing about with DOS and rs232 leads!

Been trying to get this working but the methods iv read about previous have all been a bit involved for me!

Would seem so :-( sorry

There's a version 2, which will be out/free soon which adds support for more versions (hopefully my polo too!).

Will try to remember to update this as and when.

Yeah that`d be good! My mates mk2 has it, surprised it not just a vagcom thing.

That's the same CCM as in mine.

If you're evey in the York area I'm happy to help you out.

Done my car, 2x Ibiza FR's, Ibiza TDI and an Octavia Mk1 vRS all with no problems.

They lock the ccm though, and often seem to cause alarm issues. :(

just out of curiosity on my 1.4 which doesn't have remote central locking i just put the key in and hold it on unlock and the windows go down and hold it on lock and the windows go up. does yours do this or is it because mine is a comfort model??

Yeah mine does it with the key in door. Iv heard iffy things about the plugin thing from awesome. Hummmmmm, I'm tempted to come to York, only a 6 hour round trip lol

  • 1 month later...

Quite by chance, I discovered that if I "pump" the unlock button on my remote key, on about the tenth click, both front windows go down to about half open. (Fabia TSI, 2011)

Cheers,

s.

Your should just lower or go up with a hold if the button anyeay

When turning the key to the left my windows go up but my alarm also goes off :-s

Can somebody please explain the point of being able to put the windows up or down with the remote?

Yes... certainly.

You park up your car and as you get out you realise you left your window down/your passenger left it down. You then just have to press and hold the remote to close the windows as you are walking away.

Or... It's a hot day and you lock your car. You then realise you would like the windows open a tiny bit to let some air circulate so press and hold the button and open them a couple of CM's.

Plus many other uses.

As I thought - not really that useful in the real world! Interested in the many other uses too??
