Rear Brake Options

Featured Replies

I recently failed an MOT on handbrake not holding so after greesing the return arm and putting new cables on I managed to scrape through! so think callipers are shot (hear this is a conman fault on skoda), tried putting a return spring on like mate did on his Occy but its not working for me the return arm still wont go all the way back.

So my question is really what options for replacement are there and are they any more reliable?

Was thinking of getting some mk1 occy so I can have bigger vented disks (more for the look as the stock look crap through my bigger alloys)?

Also know of people using mk4 Golf (not sure what model) are they any better?

Cheers in advanced.

Chris

256mm rear brakes from a Octavia vrs/golf anni/leon cupra r would be the best and most straight forward upgrade.

Other than that there are the ECS big brake options, they look amazing but are big monies for the little gains over 256's.

I have Audi S3 rear callipers with Tarox 2 piece bells, rotors & Sport Japan 306mm X-drilled discs along with Pagid pads. Work a treat for me.
