Cruise control

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Does anyone know if it is possible to retro fit cruise control to my 2007 Vrs 2.0 PD?. If so any ideas about cost?. Cruise is the only thing I miss about my Vectra!.

Tech1e on here will do it for less than that, I believe (from £100 according to his signature).

Although there are quite a few guides on this forum and others that would enable you to DIY for the cost of parts c.£80 and a few beer tokens to someone with VCDS to activate it.

Yes but Belper is a damn site nearer to Mansfield than Worcester

Is that where are Shark located?.

Doh!! Just looked them up!.

No idea where Belper is but yes it's possible, I charge £160 for the Octavia II supplied and fitted. Genuine parts etc, works as factory.

I had no idea where Belper was either!

But now I know that Tech1e is 70 miles further away from it than Shark... :giggle:

Cheers mate,

Belper is near Derby. Where are you?.

Near Tech1e & near Worcester.

I don't tend to get that far noorf, I get a nose bleed.

Is cruise not standard on Vrs? It is here!

It was fitted as standard around 07 plate but sometimes a few poverty spec ones came through

and don`t forget your Irish cars are loaded with extra extras to justify the inflated price over there

It's not a hard retro fit mate, if you are happy to remove the airbag and steering wheel yourself. I have retro fitted CC stalks in to my vRS and swmbo's mk5 Golf, the stalks were sourced on eBay and the mk5golfgti forum, iirc I paid less than 80 quid for both, fitting took around 20 minutes, and then the coding was completed by a local member with VCDS.

I'm sure yours will be fine but your need to confirm your steering control module is compatible.

I don't really agree as most uk cars are normally a higher spec than Irish models, it seems to be just a Skoda thing.

Mine is 57 and has xeon lights, climate contol, auto lights, auto wipers but no cruise control but not what I would call poverty spec!!!

They would have been paid for extras, apart from climate. This and rear elec windows 18 " wheels and jumbo were standard

Cruise is easy to fit, I have done over 20 now, I even done one for a vw dealer

Where did you spring up from Eddie?

Sorry mate but done a little research, Cruise, rear electric windows, jumbo box, 18" alloys and climate were only standard from 2008!

where can i get the cheapest kit from?

You could try Eddie_Nl on this forum or vw_teeside on eBay.

dsgwagen (on eBay) also do them but for a Golf - generally same part / different car.

Look on eBay for a stalk you need one just like this! Although if you are prepared to wait they can be had cheaper, being a 2006 it should have the diagnostic cable fitted, so all you need to do is find out which steering control version you have to make sure it's compatible (you can do this one of two ways, either physically look or via VCDS, to check yourself you only need to lift the top part of the steering wheel cowling, this exposes 2 x torx screws to release the lower cowl, there is a third screw underneath by the steering reach/rake handle. Once this cowling is removed the steering control module is fixed under the column, there will be a label stuck on it showing the part number). I can advise you on fitting the stalk then look for a local member with VCDS to code it, job done!
