New Style PAS Sensor

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I picked up a "new" style metal power steering angle sensor today but when i came to fit it it doesnt fit in the gap. I noticed the new sensor is twice as thick as the old one which practically falls in and out of it's housing. I didnt want to really force it incase Skoda have sold me hte wrong part, and i tried turing the column slightly to see if it would go in easier but it doesnt.

There's at least a good inch/inch and half to go before it seems jammed, has anyone else seen this or am i doing something really stupid?

Cars back together again now but i'll have another go tomorrow if anyone's got any ideas before going to skoda next week.

Cheers all

Does your new sensor have a loom on it?

This type of sensor isn't fitted to the vRS, there should be two hall sensor blades in your rack, the metal sensor with loom is for the earlier single blade.

Ah I see, yeah my new sensor is loom and sensor as one piece, whereas the one that is on my car has a seperate loom. The part number on my new sensor is: 602423291 but i couldnt make out the number on my faulty sensor, do you know what it should be?

Yours should be 6Q0 423 445 I think.
