Red Light in door no longer flashes

Featured Replies

Hi, I have noticed when I lock the doors, the red light no longer flashes? but all the doors/boot lock. I did have an issue with the CD changer/Boot lock, seems that is the CD changer worked, then the boot lock didn't, but now i have a fully working boot lock that responds to fob.

Also, do the doors lock automatically if you dont get in and put key in doors? as she seems to do this yet wasnt sure if this was standard?

Any Help greatly received.

Dave

Yup if you don't open the door within a certain time it locks again

cool, thought i was going insane. any ideas on the flashing light? i am wondering if it's related to the boot. as if i open the boot, but dont open a door all the doors still lock? would this be correct?

no boot should disable it

no boot should disable it

Think that might answer my question then..... how does it detect if boot is open? via power drain? if so then rear boot light isnt working, might explain it all?

no worries mate. cheers for the input. :sun:

It knows if the boot is open.

These cars are surprisingly intelligent. When I had a short in my trailer wiring, it told me that the circuit was jiggered and what side it was on. Also tells you if the luggage compartment/doors are open, oil level, fuel level, temperature, handbrake on... I miss having my Civic, was nowhere near as bossy! :giggle:

Have you got vcds? that'll tell you if everything is working I think. I know it reads the doors but can't remember about the boot.

Ignore the incontinent one, he has the maxi dot display lol

yes, and my mate has a bluepoiint reader too and on either, no codes.

If the doors are all locking but the led is not flashing it probably means one of the doors is not deadlocked this was the issue on mine. If you sit in the car and lock it with the remote you will probably find the door with the deadlock problem as it will open from the inside with the handle and the others won't!

I will go and have a try, then if all doors wont open its the boot

I only have a half-dot! :giggle: does yours not tell you all that??

There's also a lot of mumbling surrounding the control module in the driver's door. Gets corroded easily due to water ingress and can cause havoc, red LED not appearing being one of them...

I may have to check my central locking control, coz my doors tend to relock if i only open the boot... Did the same thing on me Cordoba, so I presumed its standard VAG. Also, on the Cordy, the doors relocked unless you opened the drivers or front passenger door.. THAT was truely annoying, especially after doing the shopping.. half way through loading up and the doors all lock again :wall:

*******s! its the drivers door! how annoying. does the part cost much? I think i looked at a thread last night, and that truly looks a ball ache to do...

yeah, i looked at that thread before too... got very scared...

Oh, don't be such a bunch of girls! :giggle:

Trick is to have a door-peeling meet. Two+ brains are better than one. Dave- as I have two seperate door-based issues AND you're relatively close by, might be able to swing by and put our collective heads to good use! Dunno about your location Mac..?
