Featured Replies

Proud Aussie Yeti Owner, Accessories are non-existent here and $$$$$ from dealers.

Want to Keep my little snowman Looking Good.

Thought this might be a place, other Briskoda Members could pass on what might fit,

from other Models/Makes.

The items I am looking for are:

Headlight/Driving Light - Plastic Stone Shields.

Dash Mat - Protection Cover.

Front Door Weather Shield/s.

Thanks in anticipation

Geoff

I had a good look for headlamp shields--I gave up. The headlamps are polycarbonate anyway, but I appreciate that in Aussie conditions additional protection would be a good thing

Same thing applies for the other things you're after-- doesn't get sunny enough here to worry about the dash unfortunately!

By "front door weather shields" do you mean the Heki draught things?

  • 5 weeks later...

I'm looking for some sort of protection for my lights on my SM too having had to swap my driver's side headlight unit today following an altercation with a pheasant about a month ago. Everything looked fine initially, but when I washed the car a couple of weeks later, I noticed that the whole unit was loose & on closer inspection I saw that the perspex was smashed between the fog & normal lights, the front mount had been smashed off (hence the loose light) & could feel a big hole on the underside of the unit. I'm not keen on the clear plastic type protector covers though as I had these on a Xantia I bought some years back & they made the lights really poor so I had to take them off. So I guess I don't really know what I'm after! I don't even think these "A" bars that you can buy would have done the trick. At least the light unit swap was fairly straight forward & I didn't think £300 for the assembly was too bad considering they're the 'steering' Xenons! Mind you, that front mount seemed quite flimsy to me, I'm not surprised it broke. I think we might be here again sometime in the future.....

1/

The plastic light protectors(??) don't seem to have been available for a while, and since they clipped over the lights probably wouldn't have done anything anyway.

2/

A bars were made illegal in the EU about 4 years ago if they were made of metal. The only ones you can now fit have to be made of soft plastic, to be pedestrian friendly.

Yes, I thought "A" bars had been outlawed too, but they're freely available & made in the EU from 63mm chrome steel -very pedestrian friendly! I think I'll just drive everywhere @ 20 mph with my hand on the horn to frighten the wildlife away!!
