PD160 Intake pipe.... worth it?

Featured Replies

I’m going to remap my Fabia vRS so I checked with Seat on how much the PD160 intake pipe costs and they quoted £98! Everyone seems to say you must have the PD160 intake for a remap, but 98 quid!

Does it make that much difference having the intake? From reading various forums it seems to give 5 more bhp and help reduce the smoke. Is that correct or is there more to it?

Not everyone is going to agree with each other here, so here's my input....

An absolute rip off and useless unless you live in a hot country. ;)

& mines mapped.

If your only going as far as a remap, I'd not bother for £100 personally. You'll not get anymore power the limiting factor on a remap is the turbo.

If your going to tune it further then yeah I'd go for it.

From what I've read my conclusion is its a no from me, mind you I'm running pretty much standard anyway (except most of the recommended minor "improvements")

If you can find one cheap second hand, then yes probably worth it as you can always sell it on again for what you paid for it.

For £100...not worth it at all.

has to be of benefit, but I wouldn't pay what they're asking these days. thank you PD130 owners for driving up the price of spares for my car

You're most welcome Andy. I bought a second one for the Roomster just to push the price up that bit further. HTH

git :D

Factory intake, air box and factory air filter are delivering over 150% of required air flow for the standard engine configuration. The factory set up is good to handle everything up to 170BHP. As many above have mentioned if you not going further than just ECU remap, better use this money for something else.

My Son bought one for his Fabia VRS, he then sold the car. But not before I had helped my self to the PD160 and 312mm Brake set up. I gave him £100 he was happy.

Thanks guys, I won't bother with the intake so you've saved me £100
