rSAP support with Ice Cream Sandwich

Right superted in the spirit of not wanting to be beaten by this I assume that you have done the following:

Reboot your Galaxy S2 into Android recovery mode by pressing power, home and volume up simultaneously.

Then select apply update from external storage using the volume buttons to navigate the menu & the power button to select.

Then navigate again using volume buttons to cwm.zip and select this using the power button.

Is this what you've done? I've just run through it using mine to check exactly how it's done.

The phone should then run clockwork mod recovery.

If so at this point you can then select apply zip from SD card and select the su busybox installer.zip

When you reboot the phone you then have the Su busybox app which proves the phone is rooted. You can then install the rSAP app as power the second part of the previous instructions.

Thanks for taking the time to reply much appreciated, yes, I have done all until I get to cwm.zip, when i try and enter using the power button it then jumps back to 'reboot now' the file is there as I can see it but for some reason it will not allow me to go further. This is the frustrating part of the process.

Anyone managed to access full phone functionality of the RNS510 for android phones which are not HTC or Samsung branded models.

I know android-rsap.com sells an app for HTC/Samsung phones.

Does anyone know a solution for sony xperia s? The phone can connect, make calls, access phonebook but cannot view call history, read sms or play songs etc

Nothing helpful found in android mkt or sony websites

Good news for anyone worried about rooting their Galaxy or Note, The guy behind the rSAP app has found a way to install without needing to root, take a look here

Is ICS working without problem for those of you who have upgraded, I have about heard all sorts of issues with it, hence I haven't done the upgrade plus the issue with RSAP completely put me off, if this is solved without rooting then I may well upgrade!!

I've had no real problems with ICS other than the lack of rSAP and sometimes when turning Aeroplane mode off the wi-fi signal strength indicator doesn't work even though the connection does so not really an issue. I am happy with it, not much difference tbh.
