MAP Spacers

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Looking at putting in a boost gauge and i dont want to tee into the plastic hard lines and i dont have an Allard EGR delete, i've been through loads of topics on gauges etc and saw someone had the idea of a MAP spacer which had a boost take off on it, i think it was for a petrol car - does anyone know if these are available for our VRS's?

cheers

Andrew

The reason for teeing off the plastic pipe is it gives a good reading. The vac hose that comes from the solenoid to the turbo sadly is a vacuum so it gives a negative reading ie the wrong way. If you're getting a boost gauge I'd get the electric type as the mech ones tend to bounce and buzz whereas the elec ones don't.

Yeah but if i ever want to get rid of the gauge (if i sell hte car for example) then im gonna need to buy new pipes. If there was a spacer with a pipe take off on it you would also get a perfect reading as it would be the same as the MAP sensor, would prob be more accruate then going off the intake pipe.

If you want rid of the gauge then just seal the pipe up.
