Tsi 2.0 stage 2?

Featured Replies

In advance of changing insurance im looking at starting to properly play with the car.

Not bothering with bigger turbos etc as I think drive will be compromised without a proper diff.

So - regarding stage 2...

Standard Airbox will remain standard as the induction roar is too much on a daily driver

As will cat back exhaust.

Regarding the front downpipe - cat or no cat? Pipewerx have quoted £245 plus £40 fit cat replacement - anyone gone this route opposed to hiflow sports cat? If so how noisy? What performance gains over stage 1 and where in the rev range is it most noticeable?

Thinking replace at Mot time (2years time)

I went for Sports cat purely because I dont like all the fumes from a Decat. plus no hassle having to change over at MOT time!

over stage 1 you will notice it pulls in a more linear fashion, you will have less of a "spike" but it will make more power for longer, most noticable at the higher revs from 4000rpm onwards.

Daz, what map do you run?

It's in his sig

really been meaning to get to a RR with it as Id like to see what its putting out, but Im holding off until I fit my Audi TTS intercooler.

I found stage 2 to be a huge improvement on stage 1. More linear as Daz said and pulls much better and harder to the red line, so much smoother as well. I thought you required a CAI for stage 2? What I will say is that my ITG maxogen is extremely quiet on a normal drive, to the point where it sounds oem.

as noba says, my apr carbonio is also almost oem quiet, enclosed is the way to go it seems!

Don't know if anyone's noticed but the apr kit seems to have been reduced to £220 according to goapr uk site

Only requirement for stage 2 is a larger bore down pipe with either sport or decat, intake for stage 2+ and a HPFP if you are a lowly Tfsi owner.......

Does one still require a rear O2 Spacer with a stage 2 tune & hi-flo or decat downpipe?

Not if your tuner maps out the fault. ;)
