Auto locking

Featured Replies

Had the battery off my vRS for last 10 days as I sent steering pump off for repair. Fixed it all back together tonight and I noticed that the car is auto locking itself.

I get out of the car close the door and the interior light stays on for a set period, after this period the interior light goes off and the car locks itself.

Now I havnt changed any settings or anything but wondered if disconnecting the battery has reset something.

Can anyone tell me how to disable this feature.

Cheers

If i unlock the car and dont touch it within 30 seconds or somthing it auto locks itself.

I think to reset the cars ecu / memory or whatever.... you need to remove the battery for an hour or more? put the battery back on, start the car and leave it idle without touching anything for about half an hour, then the car will be factory set.

sound like somthing you may have done?

does the key still work to lock and unlock the car?

everything els still tuned in and how you remember?

do the windows work the same with the full up and down function?

My old Golf had this issue, turned out to be the door switch had failed - car thinks you have not opened the door & so locks itself.

My golf.has this still! Waiting for a dry weekend to.fix it.

Does the light on buzzer still work if the drivers door is opened? If not, would point to door switch as said above.
