Got back from 3 weeks in Sydney today and the battery on the Fabia was as flat as a pancake - not happy as it was brand new around 3 months ago after having issues with the last one (it was the original one!).

Got a jump start and made it home from Glasgow to Penicuik no probs...apart from the CEL light is now on and staying on.

Car drives fine, no limp mode or anything, and I didn't have the light when I parked it up before jetting off.

Does anyone have any theories about what could have caused this? It did take around 5 attempts to start today, we had to eventually leave the jump leads attached and charging for about 5 mins before I had enough juice to kick it over.

Is there anyone in the Penicuik/Edinburgh area who could read for codes and maybe reset everything for me for a wee beer or two?

Could do without any major spend as I have just jacked in my job after 14.5 years to go it alone contracting so am looking for my first contract from tomorrow

I got the error cleared and it never came back, just as I hoped, side effect of flat battery.
