Refurb Wheel Colour - anyone know what this is?

Featured Replies

Looking at refurb colours for my Pegasus wheels, and spotted a TT with this wheel finish at lunchtime.

Can anyone provide me with a paint code, or paint colour for it? Or perhaps someone with some Audi knowledge who can run that plate, as they were the same as this photo I've found :)

Yep that colour is definitely grey

If it helps Steve i'm almost 100% certain that the car itself is white, the bushes behind it are Green, the bit on the number plate is blue, and the top line of text on the signs behind is red

HTH ;)

Looking on an Audi forum the paint code is Titan, paint code 8AU

Thanks Tim

Wardy, who do you use for refurbs?

That's the next stage - thinking about that :)

Definite possibilities are Diamond Wheels in Stockport, who came recommended on here.

Or using the old Pro-Clean boys, who are now at National Alloys. Think it was you who told me about them originally??

Worth an ask Tim. Not sure how quickly I was planning on moving with this, was just considering colour options at this stage.

Perhaps some point next month?

No probs, it's a good idea. Might also have a third person interested too, so worth mentioning that as well - as another option, to see if the price is better again with three guaranteed customers, than than two :)

Sorry to gatecrash but I would be interested in the outcome of this one.

I had a quote from The Wheel Specialist in B'ham at £275. This forum has also recommended Smart Repair Company in Chester (£50 a corner plus £7.50 tyre removal and re balance) so £200 sounds very reasonable.

Cheers

Those alloys could do with a good clean, just look at all that brake dust...

Hi Guys,

Take a look here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/123460-halting-alloy-wheel-lacquer-delamination/page__st__90

Post no.94, the Skoda wheels (Not on the car) were done by Steve at Diamond wheels (£220) and the Audi wheels (On the car) were done by The Wheel Specialists in Manchester (£300).

They both look good but can't beat Diamond Wheels for the price, had this post been a month ago I would have joined your group buy.

Cheers. Are the refurbed set on the car yet? Be good to see how they look fitted.

Steve the colour of TT wheels is called titanium, the finish however is in satin, so if you were to wax them they would loose their appearance, not sure how easy they are to clean either as it is quite a rough texture to them.

Not yet, still having cold mornings here in the Pennines circa 2 or 3 degrees typically on the way to work so winters have stayed of at the moment.

Yep, fair enough. Thought that might be the case based on your location :)
