small update

the head surface had a few marks on due to some plonker thinking a screwdriver or something should be used to remove it lol

so iam strpping the head and its going to the machine shop to be re surfaced and a few other little tweeks ;-)

also the block is fully stripped so that will be decked to ensure the head to block seal is perfect !!! while its there there going to clean up all the crappy casting marks on the coolant ports as the castings on all 1.8t blocks is rough so this should help and again it will ported and honed to the new pistons ;-)

taken the old starter into work today so that will be fully stripped re greased and re painted so will look nice a new ;-)

just wish this rain would **** off !!!!!

howd i miss this :) good to see it getting looked after

small update ...

Beginning to think you should start with a fresh block :S

  • Author

The block is v?ry good and once machined and the few other little tricks it will be better than new ;-) and álot stronger ;-)

P.s i do have a spair forged engine now sitting in the garage as a spair lol

wow. just wow. sounds like it's going to be awesome but why sell it once it's done??

not there for just looks its there to actually do a job and create down force ;-) genuine wrc spoiler ;-)

Estimated finished bhp!

not chasing figures really but a strong 400+ and 400 ftlb will be good and driveable ( rolling road days turned up 500 lol)

thanks mate hopefully she will be good and she is being taken to the next level and will be in full track prep so light as poss

The rear spoiler is a genuine WRC Kevlar lightweight spoiler, and does actually perform its intended task of keeping the car on the road / track. IIRC it cost the previous owner a pretty penny or two, its not some cheapo milotec or simillar product.

Good to see life being bred back into the red devil, cant wait to see the results.

I still remember the Rolling Road day we went to, where despite endless efforts it was impossible to get a power reading as the car despite being well strapped down and full of people inside and more standing on the sills the car get on getting wheel spin as the turbo spooled up.

Its only going to get worse power wise lol it going to have mo?e cc,s and higher comp ratio , large port head , hard pipes big front mount , and methanol lol

Plus mapped by a legend

the spare engines nothing to do with implausible performance ?
