According to Fabia 1 handbook & Haynes to put out service & oil service indicator on 2001 Elegance all you have to do is press trip button , turn on ignition and hold down trip button. Can't make it do anything except zero trip also button does not seem to twist. There are no other buttons on dash eg clock so any ideas welcome.

Press and hold the trip button and while still holding turn the ignition on. Pretty sure that's all it is.

Process is correct for a Mk1, remember you have two service indicators, OIL and INSP, if you've done both services you need to reset both. If you've ever set the clock you'll know the button twists slightly both ways.
