Bye bye Octavia, HELLO SUPERB!

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 2008 Octavia VRS 2.0TFSI...80000KM and have had enough servicing the thing (2200EUR over last 10 months).

I'm on a budget and unfortunately can't tick all the boxes...really I just want your thoughts and opinions

- 2.0TDI 140HP - is this engine powerful enough? thoughts in general, experience?

- I definitely want a diesel

- i received offer of 23,899EUR incl VAT for a 2.0TDI 140HP comfort with added front heated seats, tinted windows, full spare wheel + 16"alloys....opinions?

- in general can you give me any tips/advice/experiences?

Thanks

Go for Bluetooth (cheapest version), remote hatch-opener, parking sensors. Automatic tranny if you can afford it, it plays excellent with that engine. You will notice a fair power drop over your vrs, but it has decent torque for a 140 bhp engine.

Oh, and Mobile Device Interface if you have an iDevice. Skip sat nav and electric seats / leather, but go xenon!

I have the 140 CR engine and find (for me) it's plenty adequate, yes we would all like the most powerful engine available but this is fine IMO.

You can see the consumption figures in my Fuelly account (below) - this is from new with my fairly heavy right foot at times.

Can't really offer any advise on your offer but it probably comes in just below £20k (GBP) - presumably this is new?

Yep, the price is for a brand new one

IMHO the 140CR engine is fine for most general motoring, and towing. Effortless quiet acceleration, compared with PD engines.
