Rear upper strut bars again.

Featured Replies

Just wondered if anyone out there is Fabia land wanted one of the rear strut braces that I make? I've sold quite a few and they do make a good bit of difference. Similar to the Forge one, but a good bit cheaper (but a little more difficult to fit - if you have the time!

+1 especially with Coilovers & Jabba RARB?

  • Made a massive difference to mine, had to re adjust all the dampers as it altered the balance of the car. Once re tweaked though it corners very well indeed.

  • They are one piece as opposed to the forge one which is adjustable. Being one piece they are a little fiddly to get the bolts in.

Does it actually make any noticeable difference though really?

I would be interested depending on price

I use my boot often for large loads & it would just get in the way! Managed to fit my mountain bike in the other day without taking anything off at all. That was a tight fit!

Still never fitted mine from the original group buy...... its stuck in my boot doing nothing. Never got round to putting it on eBay either.

I'm interested just a few questions tho;

•How much will they cost?

•Do they come in any other colours?

•How hard are they to fit?

•Do you post?

Cheers, Alex

The price is still the same - £44 inc delivery - I will post anywhere in the UK. But i've now also sent a few to europe too - extra postage costs would be charged

They come in bare metal - I'll paint them a satin black if required - however i've been loads of finishes to far. powdercoat, carbon wrapped, chrome wrapped - even just a piece of pipe cladding!!

They are a little harder than the Forge ones - but with the right tools 10-45 minutes

Postage is included in the price - within the UK

Hope that answers your questions! :)

Put me down for one

Sweet - lets get the list started - i'll do them in batches of 5 (to do with the length of the bars and how many I can get out of each piece of metal I have to order!)

Ok so here we go then:

1:- Mike07VRS - What colour you want bare metal or satin black?

Could I get it just primed please?

May be interested, but when you say it's harder to fit than the Forge one, in what way?

exactly! The forge one comes in 2 pieces and is alloy - this one is a one piece and its made for thick guage steel. you just been to get creative with the socket set to get the bolts in. But it should be done in 30 minutes tops! :)

Did you ever get anywhere with the s3 style lower front braces?

That i'm still working on!! It doesnt seem to do very much!!! I havent noticed any massive difference in running with or without it!

However I do have other bits on the way - its on its 6th incarnation - but its a breather system for the crank to stop the EGR oiling up etc. The bracket makes it difficult to fit it anywhere without having to take the kit apart to drain it. So this time the bracket goes in the reverse place of the intercooler on the drivers side, but above the passengers side foglight - pipework down from crankcase breather, down to the kit - which has a breather vent also - then a pipe back upto the air intake. because of its placement it helps catch and keep the oil there, and no oil goes back up the pipe due to the steep angle! :) but its not quite finished yet. My prototypes have all been rivetted together - the production one will be welded then powdercoated or painted in stone chip to stop it rusting. The first pics of this will be ready soon. Only downside so far is you have to remove the bumper to fit the kit. and the drain hose clips to the underside of the catchtanks and drains out between the bumper and the p/s arch liner! :)

Only 1 then??

Is that with upper strut or without? I've taken my upper strut off as i prefer that to with, ideally though if it was slightly stiffer (i.e. lower front) it may be perfect combo :) Keep us updated! Perhaps a "X" brace may make more difference? (If its possible)

I tried it with both the upper seat bar on and off - no difference. Maybe even a little more understeer - so far its abandoned as i'm taking the Fabia apart at the moment! Its currently up on axle stands with no rims on it and the front bumper is off to sort out a few niggles.

  • 1 month later...

Still doing these mate?

How do you take payment? I'm interested but don't have the funds at the moment.

i would be interested, do i have to drill the holes in the strut myself?

Sorry - been offline a week or so - internet issues

Payment by paypal
