Burnt Bum!

Featured Replies

Strange title I know.

Wondering if its just me but the heated seat I have on My VRS seem way too hot.

On setting 1 the seat barely warms up (just noticable) but on setting 2 within a minute or so I have to turn it off as it is actually painfull to sit on!

Passengers have no issues on setting 2.

I have checked the seat fabric (in case the heating strip has come through some how) but all looks fine.

Perhaps I have a sensitive behind (set up for a number of jokes no doubt!) but just wanted to see if anyone else had issues before I go back to the dealer as I a bit disapointed not being able to use then seats having paid extra for them.

Any thoughts/jokes?!!

Same in mine, 1 not warm enough, 2 burns after a few minutes, never tried passenger seat.

I find the 25% setting is too warm after about 10-15 mins. 100% feels really hot after about 2 or 3 minutes and I only use it as a "boost" before switching back down to to 25%.

I wonder how many people are suffering in silence.

I have a similar problem, but different. In my VRS, the driver's seat on the lowest setting heats up very hot on the left side, so I get a red hot cheek, and on the right side does very little.

I can't bear setting 2 for longer than about 3 minutes because it becomes very uncomfortable fairly quickly.

Surely this can't be right? I'm tempted to take the thing back and claim it's not fit for purpose - I don't see how anyone, even with the most leathery behind could put up with setting 2 - not to mention the wonky-bum setting 1.

Would be very interested to hear other peoples' thoughts/experiences...

In really cold conditions, I use it on 2 for the first 10 mins if the outside temp is 0 - -5 etc...but it normally cuts itself out. I use the 2 as a boost, then the 1, until my climate control warms up. then I switch the seat off :)

My only experience of heated seats were the leather ones n a Hyundai Coupe. I would switch them on to warm the seat in winter while I defrosted the car, then after a few minutes driving, the seats were nice and warm and I switched them off. They were nice, but I would not bother with heating a fabric seat.

Louis... your heated seat is broken, get it to the dealer. They should heat evenly.

Don't have heated seats on the new car but the previous mk1 had them and they had 5 settings which gave good control. The wife's toyota has them but they only have two settings, on or off! I can only bear to have them on for a few minutes before it gets uncomfortable, the only reason the wife switches hers off though is when she turns the engine off!
