SMF valeo reply is it true?

Featured Replies

Hi there been looking around for clutchs and smf conversion iv found a valeo kit for 379.95 flywheel and clutch kit which is really cheap has any one had any bad dealings with them? and the quality of their products? i emailed them asking if it was suitable for my vrs and would cope with the 312lbft torque and asking if it was noisey compared with other kits that "chatter" this was their response:

You are probably on the limits for torque without going to a performance kit ( depends on your budget). There really is no kit that can definately say there will be no chatter as most of it is caused by the amount of wear on the first motion shaft the individual car has, most quality and kits don't cause chatter as they have strong springs and the solid flywheel can't make any noise as it is a solid piece of steel.

Thanks for your enquiry

Paula

i thought it was the weight of the flywheel that determined if it was noisey or not? any advice greatly received.

I fitted one of these kits 2weeks ago and so far I'm very happy, quality kit and easy to fit. Slight increase in noise but nothing I can't live with. I use mine as a learner car and do around 200 miles a day so it gets some hammer and it's been great. Plus if you enter clutch15 you get 15% off as well

I'm running the same kit and I'm at 310 ft lbs

Brilliant for the money no noticeable noise either

I read that it's only suitable to 270ftlbs.. could be wrong tho.
