When I start my 130PD, on idle I get what I can only describe as a warble, quite loud at times.

Is this likely to be the alternator pulley or some part of the belted parts?

Don't know if this is a common problem, but any insight would be appreciated.

If it's a hydraulic tensioner you should be able to trace the source of the sound to the tensioner and it'll be obviously wobbling.

Could well be the aux belt tensioner making the noise, most likely caused by the alternator pulley being seized which knackers the tensioner.
