Apex Lowering Springs on VRS PICS?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have made numerous posts about lowering my VRS, Its a dead cert that im doing it i just want to find the right way thats cost effective for me at the min and will get the look that i want.

I am very interested in Apex lowering springs but unsure of how they look on a VRS as most suppliers say between a 20-40mm drop.............

If anyone has these fitted please post pics as it would be much appreciated,

On a vrs they will be -20 and just expect the car to look the same height, my friend lowered his vrs -20 and it didnt look any different just handled alot better!

Here's what Apex springs look like.

Sat quite nice on mine, but it was the worst ride ever, extremely bouncy, and not worth it.

im running standard 16" wheels and when i change them ill still stay on 16".... personnal pref dont really like 17's as i do alot of motor way miles

Yeah just pointing out that Johnny 50's car is on 17" so dont take that picture as reference because on 16" wheels and a 20mm drop you really cant see much of a difference. If your lowering it for looks you will need coilovers or springs and shocks. Not to sound negative mate but I've already been where you are now and I got coilovers in the end as I wanted a "lowered look" for my car not just better handling.

yer i have been looking at JOM coilovers also think i will go for them, How do you know that the drop is the same all the way around on coilovers? i have lowered all my cars previously but never had coilovers

Just lower the back first to suit what you want then match the fronts up. With weitec i just put my rears to the bottom and the fronts 12 threads up from bottom as someone on here said this is what they did and their picture looked spot on.

double post...

I think you'll find they're 16" Spiders, so that's exactly how it'll sit :)

i thought they were 16" with the profile of the tyres... sits quite nice on them i think but if you said it was slopy and not a nice ride ill avoid

they looked to large to be 16" my bad.
