AWY 1.2 htp 6v engine cover. Does it exist?!

Featured Replies

I've got a 1.2 6v with the engine code AWY. When I first got it I was surprised to see the engine had no cover. I assumed being a slightly newer car it would be incased in a frustrating amount of plastic. Having just got my Haynes manual in the post I noticed it mentions the engine cover a lot, and refers to the air box being contained in it.

Mine has a separate air box to the right, and most defiantly no engine cover of any kind. More out of intrigue than a desire to get one do others with a 6v have an engine cover?! If so anyone have a pic of what it looks like!?

6 valve?

Has the 1 fell off?

Haha no its a 1.2 three piston so 6 valve.

My 1.2 has the engine cover as the airbox also. Couldnt say if my 1.2 12v engine cover would fix..

As above 3 cylinder 6 valve! Saves on spark plugs lol! I did look at the 12v cover but it def wouldn't fit. I'm just interested wether some previous owner has dumped the cover at some point or if it just never had one. Any 6v owners out there or am I the only one lol!

We got one but in an Ibiza, so same thing underneath.

I'll have to take a look to what cover there is, I can't remember, but I'm sure theres one there, obviously it will have an S on it

Sounds like half a V6 when up the revs lol

Hi I have same model fabia 1.2 "06 plate", and have the same issue, no black plastic engine cover so I think they just never bothered to fit/design one for this basic model.

I came across this page a couple of weeks back:

http://skoda.worksho...ndex.php?id=717

Which certainly suggests that at some point, AWY engines have had a cover.

Looks narrower L-R than the 12V version.
