Lee's '97 Felicia LXi

Featured Replies

Hello all... I thought it was about time I should post on the forum of my little felicia.. appropriately named Felicity

Got 'her' simply because I needed something cheap to fill and reliable that would get me to work and uni and if anything went wrong it would be cheap to repair.

It is Pre-Facelift but does have Facelift electric/heated mirrors and bumpers fitted.. makes it look much nicer! :) Anyway.. pics below..

Modifications

  • Remote central locking
  • Window tint
  • FaceLift front bumper
  • FaceLift rear bumper
  • FaceLift heated/electric mirrors
  • Tachometer
  • Day running lights
  • Grill lights
  • Intake LED
  • Skoda Auto mudflaps
  • Clear side repeaters
  • Aero wipers
  • Fullsize hub caps
  • LED 3rd brake light
  • LED front side lights
  • Brisky sticker(s) + Plate surrounds

Now for my lights... the DRLs (middle) have auto-dim and indicate functions so aren't just sitting there :)

Ah the joys of paint matching. In the case of the fun it's no fun at all, on both colours! There's always a first time for Felly breakdowns, but so far touch wood & that also applies to my lads Golf.

Thanks.

On Bay search for 'Audi style DRL' and ones similar will come up.

The ones I purchased have 4 wires, live, earth, sidelight and indicator. Just wire it all up and when the sides come on it dims and when it indicates it turns the white off and puts the amber on..

The ones that are many of only have 2 wires and that's live and earth and don't dim or indicate.

I seldom go through canterbury, only go as far as wincheap for the park and ride ;)

Latest changes; had to be done :)

New bolts had to be added and spacers fitted as on full lock the steering arm was rubbing. All sorted now!

Just found them on eBay tbh. Searched Skoda Vinyl and both the lettering and circle decals came up eventually.

^ +1 with ebay + had one made up that's now sitting on the tailgate.

Very nice Felicia. Did the facelift bumpers fitted without modifications? I am interested in the same mod.

Thanks!

The back went on fine, just had to modify the bolt caps that are under the boot lid. (skim off the bottom).

The front; Bolted on fine. Issue with where the under light blanks go as fitting the grill would push the bumper down, but they were buzzed off.

The only problem I have noticed is the towing eye point. Being on the older bumper the hole was longer, on this it isn't so I have yet to drill a hole and put in a blank.

Found this out when the gear pivot snapped!

Found second and poodled home :)

Thank you very much! Now all I have to do is to get the bumpers.

No worries!

I got mine off of eBay from a car in a scrappy an paid 70 including postage.

I just had to do a lot of touching up on the front bumper and was scratched from sitting on the car with no wheels lol.

Just thought I'd update you on what the only difference you'd really notice with a FL bumper on a PFL :D

It is pretty much just the gap at the front where the bigmouth would fit, doesn't look out of place at all :D

you need some fog lights now tho mate

Thought about getting officials but if I want them on all the time mrPoliceman might complain.

I got some cheapies, fitted LED and they aren't as bright as actual fogs, infact dimmer than my DRL.

They are ignition live and no need for a fog light switch ;) (rarely use fog lights for their actual purpose in this country anyway lol)

Coming on nicely Lee, are you going to go with the facelift grill or stick with the current one? I'm guessing there's a reason you've stayed with it?

I'm going to stick with the little mouth. I don't like the look of the big mouth on the felicia, and didn't like keeping the black bumpers lol. Best of both worlds :)

Lee.

Interesting! totally agree with you on the bumpers, totally disagree with you on the grill! That's why Brisky is so great, everybody has there own opinion and styles.
