Back from main dealer with lots of problems.....

Featured Replies

Right, so was having loss of turbo power, and also trouble selecting 5th gear, limp mode engaged so I took my Fabia to main dealer, as only across the road........They carried out a really good check of her and have found the following faults.....would like your views please: only cost me £40 (no defects on ECU)

1. Firstly, and the mechanic said this was rather bad: The boost sensor has been removed, re-fitted but siliconed in place......I do have a couple of pics I will post......but why would this have been done??? He said it could well be this causing the turbo problem

2. Vac test carried out on turbo and the diaphragm leaking internally

3. Oil leak from boost pipe where it joins FMIC at the front underneath (he said this could be a pain to resolve and hopefully would re-seal itself, but loosing pressure

4. Boost pipe rubbing on radiator

5. Gearbox 1st motion shaft bearings very noisey - play on internal gears

He said I'm also going to need a new turbo at some point so things are not looking good. He was most surprised by the map sensor as he said this was very naughy and I should ask the reputable Skoda tuning company I'm certain fitted it, why?

Looks like I'm looking at some expensive repairs after a month of ownership boo hoo. Help or costings appreciated

And if anyone wants the work let me know!!

Lots of views.....any ideas on point 3?

If its leaking oil residue from between the pipe and bottom intercooler joint then you'll find most vrs do this.

Take it to a good independent garage.

Silicone can be used instead of a gasket.. its not the end of the world really.

If it was in limp mode there would be a stored code.

Thanks, Vcds was run and nothing was logged.......strange as when I lost power twice, upon re-ignition everything was fine again. Think a wet sunday checking for pipe leaks is on order...re the silicon it was used to secure the MAP in place instead of the two bolts

That's strange.

Blimey surprised that held on with 1.3 bar of boost behind it!
