I would think about £400 for a full proper custom remap to account for the turbo, etc.

Unit 18 do them for around £300 last time I asked. (was a while ago but worth a bell)

Been quoted £650 by psi tuning and £500 by shark which I think is to much

£500 :wonder: that does seem to be rather expensive...

I'm sorry you think that £500 (including VAT, we're only actually charging £416) is too much, but sometimes you have to pay for expertise, not to mention the dyno time on a brand new, state of the art dyno.

218.6hp 462Nm and smoother than Barry White making a mucky phonecall.

Depends...

For a custom remap i'd hope to get tweaks or refinements FOC if requested within a reasonable timeframe. My guess on price would be £450. Given generic remaps normally appear around the £250-£300 mark with no dyno time.

Get on a group buy through one of the VAG forums to reduce the price IMO. Or wait for "winter saver" type deals... Bit redundant this time of year, that advicxe though... :)

I am just waiting for one more quote off jabbasport depending what theres is might just get the extra penny's and take it shark as they aren't that far way from me :) unit 18 haven't really done any with that turbo on so they don't won't to do it which is fair enough

For a custom map you'll be talking a good few hours. If they have a rolling road it'll be easier to log/measure but at the same time you have the cost of the rolling road. You also have to factor in all the other cost, man hours, building rent etc etc. plus flashing hardware and licences arnt cheap. Makes £500 look a bargain.

Yeah, I never took the above into consideration really. Think I'm comparing it to the BARGAIN £160.00 I paid during the offer Shark had last year :)

That is a bargain :)

Shark quoted me a £150 upgrade to map for a Hybrid pd150 from a pd150

£500 :wonder: that does seem to be rather expensive...

that's the sort of ballpark figure I paid for my Ibiza to be mapped, depends if you're talking a generic map that's been slightly tweaked I guess?

Damn, it's about £280 now to remap my car at Shark! Think I'll hold off until someone reputable does a £200 or less offer

Keep an eye out for group buys on the various VAG forums, or special offers from Shark themselves. I think I only paid £150 for my Shark map, as it was an xmas special offer.

It helps to follow them on Facebook, for example.

And Ben, you're supposed to be off sick and recovering! Can't help doing something while you're off huh?

Yes I know.. a least now I can use a laptop and I am allowed to drive again, so can be seen haunting the office at HQ on occasion ;)

How long does it take you to put a hybrid map on a car?

Thanks,

@ Shark

Who's Fabia is that and what turbo does it have?

Thats by far the best map for low down power I've seen, normally they seem to have well under 100hp @2000rpm

Impressive!

It depends really, I'd estimate half a day but in reality could take longer.

Thanks for the kind comments!

The customer ordered that turbo themselves, I think it was a CR Turbos Hybrid but can't be certain. The owner is a member on here but they seldom post.
