Restoring VRS leather seats

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I've recently began to notice a couple of tiny spots of wear on the leather bolsters of the VRS drivers and passenger seat, whereby the black colouring is wearing through back to the leather.

Google suggests that the only way to remedy this is to clean up the affected areas and then apply a couple of fresh coats of leather stain/paint.

.

I've had a look onto a few leather care type sites and seen kits for about £15 which are designed for generic leather use, clothing, sofa's etc. but also seem suitable for car seats.

As such was wondering if anyone else had any recommendations for a product suited to the job or any words of wisdom they could share?

Cheers

look up gliptone. i used their products when i had to repair my vandalised leather in an old car. really good stuff and easy to use. i repaired tears and they were invisible to others

Thanks Luize, just looking at their stuff now.

There seem to be an awful lot of different products and kits which they sell, which did you use on your seats?

I'm thinking that the £15 Scuffmaster kit should be all i need, but then it makes mention of needing to treat it with their cleaner and conditioner afterwards which is another £20 of expense - just wondering if thats really necessary given i already have leather cleaning/conditioning stuff at home (albeit not Gliptone branded)

Cheers
