Springs fitted

Featured Replies

The vrs is in today to have a set of eibach pro line lowering sprigs fitted. I'm not too sure what to expect when I pick the car up but non the less I eagerly await its completion. The set I have say it's ~ 20mm drop, not huge but still over 3/4 oF an inch. Should be good...pictures and a write up to follow.

Look forward to before and after - did you measure the gap before :)

Nice one  looking forward to the pics and write up

I'm also looking forward to seeing the pics as i'm thinking about doing this myself. Do you mind telling me how much its costing you?

Ok so my first impression was that I was shocked to how so little has improved the car so much. It has a much nicer stance now and has got off them stilts ;-) the ride itself has not been compromised atall it's still nice on smooth flat roads and no real shakes on rough roads.I have had a few low stiff cars and they were awful!! however this feels like it should be like that from the factory. Anyway here's a before picture (one I took few weeks back)

And here is today

These pictures really show how much difference only ~20mm has made.

And to answer the above question, the springs were FOC from Skoda as a good will gesture and I got a local vw specialist to fit them. I really do recommend Keith Edwards of Ulverston they have done a brilliant job and only charged me £100!! :-)

Looks perfect to me

Looks really good that mate :)

I think because it's on a slope it looks a little lower than it actually sits on the flat, but it gives everyone a rough idea anyway. Thanks for your comments so far people ;-) happy with the end result

Nice! Must enquire! They the Skoda ones too?! Hmm

They are the eibach pro kit | sport line . If that means much ;-)

Yup

You'll have to do a test to see if handling really is improved. My only concern with lowering is that if it's too harsh over our crap roads you actually go slower

Come to think of it my service is due just before Castle Combe in September and I could get it done the same time

Looks good. Was it done by Skoda or an independent and if you don't mind saying how much was it?

That looks really nice are these springs available from all dealers or just selected ones?

From Skoda = £180+fitting

hmm Eibach do either a Pro kit or a Sportline kit so I don't understand..I assume it's Pro as they are black, the Sportline being red

Edit...I also don't understand Skoda quoting a drop of only 20mm, when Eibach quote a drop of 30mm (for the hatch). It's even more confusing for the Estate as Skoda quote 20mm Front, 15mm Rear, Eibach 30mm all round??

Looks lower than I was expecting, but just right.

Mine is due to have eibachs fitted next week, so I'll aim to take some pre/post pics & will finally post in the intro section in a week or so

Thanks Wilko251088, £100 for fitting sounds excellent and FOC from Skoda even better!!

Looks great with them fitted

Cheapskates...LOL..they use the same box for the Pro kit or Sportsline

Does it affect warranty?

No as Skoda supplied them they said warrenty is not affected by Skoda accessories :-)

That goes for fitting too?

that looks so much better.
