Thumbs up for Benfield in Harrogate!

Featured Replies

I know they have been getting some bad press recently on this forum but I feel it only fair to share my positive experience. I have been suffering from an on going judder from my DSG car. It has been intermittant but steadily getting worse. Benfield have not felt the car do it, despite a couple of lengthy test drives (as proven by my trip computer). The read outs were giving no faults but at no time was I given the 'computer says no' fob off. I was believed and David (and Adam) seemed genuinly intrested in trying to sort the issue out for me.

They took the car in for 2 days six weeks back to run an update and do some checks which did not cure the fault. It was then taken off the road by them for 8 days (I did say no rush to them) to have a new clutch pack fitted in a hope of sorting my fault. It appears to have worked. I was given a decent free courtesy car both times ( the new 1.2tdi three cylinder is quite incredible) and kept fully updated by David the service manager.

A full thumbs up from me and Ill continue to recommend them to my Skoda and Ford driving friends for work.

Well done Benfield

Sounds like a positive result

Lets hope nothing falls off and it doesn't catch fire

300 miles done and my car remians in one piece, no leaking car fluid marks on my new drive and no bonfire. My thumbs remain pointing skywards!

Clocked you Auric the other day while servicing a neighbour of yours gas boiler. Nice pair you got there...............(of motors of course).

Im one half of HH.

Glad to hear they've done well for you. I should be getting my Yeti from them at the end of the month and it'll be going back there for servicing, at least to start with. Much more convenient than Leeds for me.

I was a little concerned about Auric's issue as the same nearly happened to me, though a month after having a service there. Engine tray on my Mk 1 Octy came loose and was scraping the tarmac at the slightest bump - not much fun as I was on the A1 at the time. Five securing screws were missing - might have been them not putting them back, or they could have been missing a while (in which case you'd think it would get mentioned at the very least) and the cover not refitted properly. It'd always been serviced at D.M. Keith, Leeds before then, and a number of the engine cover caps have gone missing over the years after servicing :(

I can only comment on sales, a long way to go yet before the Octavia’s first service; service book stamped for 2 years or 20,000 miles. I did found the sales team to be very good, gave me all the information I needed and under no pressure to buy and every thing was explained to me when I took delivery in January.

So for me, a thumbs up for John.thumbsup.gif
