Blueconnect Bluetooth query

Featured Replies

Hi, I have bought a cheap Blueconnect (I know the reviews aren't favourable but it was cheap!) and after fitting using the wiring harness to the back of the Bolero stereo, I find the unit always stays on. I presume it should switch off when the ignition is turned off, but it stays lit and still connects to me phone while the car's sat on my drive. Like I say I used the wiring harness that goes inline to the Bolero, but thinking about it the Bolero is always powered as I can turn it on without the ignition being on, so is there any way to get the Blueconnect to switch off with ignition? Many Thanks.

Hi My car came with this unit fitted (ex demo). The unit had been wired to the unswitched live on the bolero unit. The battery had totally discharged while standing at the dealers. It failed soon after I took delivery and was replaced under warranty. The dealer had rewired it to the switched live on the head unit before I took delivery so it is possible but I can't help you with which wire it is. I have since taken the unit out and put back the glasses holder, much more useful! I use my tom tom for hands free, much more user friendly and portable between cars.

Thanks for that, I will look into the Bolero connectors and see if its easy to do.

There are no switched 12V supplies behind the radio since the Bolero is controlled via CANBus, you must run a wire to an appropriate terminal at the fusebox.

The Blueconnect is a simple aftermarket device and is not CAN controllable.
