Quite rattling whilst cold with clutch pressed

Featured Replies

Im getting a quiet rattle when my car is cold but this only hapoened when I push down on the clutch pedal what is this ??

Also I read pressing clutch pedal when starting and turning car off is good for it is this true I have a vrs aswell please help ?

Mine has done this for about 10k no issues in taking up drive just a noise when cold could be the dmf or clutch release bearing at the very worst it could be the gearbox input shaft bearings and it queitens down after the gearbox oil warms up. I'd just monitor until some more apparent rears it's head otherwise you could be paying big bills for a simple noisy bearing.

Oh and pressing the clutch on startup and shutdown is good practice. It removes the gearbox and dmf from the minor shudder that occurs in the drivetrain and should prolong the life of both ( in theory)
