Dsg type gearboxes

Featured Replies

I have really missed the DS G box since I sold my Octavian a few years ago.

Although its a bit away next I would like to go back to a DSG of something similar. trouble is my next car is likely to be a Fabia sized estate, and must be a diesel.

Do skoda mate the DSG with the Fabia diesels, or is ther any other choice of a of a similar twin clutch auto?

I know the fabia vrs comes with DSG. Not sure on diesel though

Just check the skoda site? I know the config is down just now, but download a brochure i`m sure it`ll be in there.

You can get the 7 speed dry clutch DSG on the 1.2 TSI and the 1.4 TSI twincharge VRS models.

The 7 speed was designed to fit on the Polo sized chasis.

Strangely it is not matched the diesel in the Fabia, not sure if it is in the A1, Ibiza or Polo in the UK market although it can stand the 250 Nms of torque that the smaller diesels put out but it is in other markets I understand.

Press says it matches the TSI petrol very well which I agree with this my 4th DSG, two diesel and two petrol.

Yeah, but at 22-25K miles a year it has to be diesel. Looks like the fabia is ruled out.

Any idea is any out manufactures mate a diesel fabia size car with an decent auto, that wont lose me too many mpg's?
