Stupid stereo

Featured Replies

Looks like my driver speaker is playing up and im guessing it's after I reinstalled the stereo a few months ago as the parrot kit works fine.

How easy is it to remove the top box as I'm thinking of movin the wiring to above the stereo?

Thanks

Top box is dead easy, its held in by a couple of clips on front edge. Use a trim removal tool or plastic ruler and wedge in between the dash and the box under the the hazard switch and gently lever upwards and twist the ruler / tool and the box should pop out. Be careful with the hazard switch wiring when moving to one side.

Cheers fella, hopefully get a chance to do it tonight

Three clips along front edge and two down each side.

Plastic rulers and a little care are all that's needed.

If you want to remove it fully to give you more space to work you need to unclip the hazard switch cable. Once you've got the box out just push the switch forward from behind and you'll be able to unclip it easily.

When refitting it, try taking the switch out and passing the plug back through the hole as you refit it.

Then plug the switch back in and push back into its correct place.

Much easier than trying to plug the cable back in with the switch still in place.

All out, nice and easy thankfully. Bloody speaker is working again though :(

Will have to spend a little longer with it and double check the connections
