Replacing broken front speakers

Featured Replies

The front passenger side speaker on my VRS has packed up and is buzzing on bass frequencies. It seems to look ok, but sounds terrible.

I need to replace the fronts with something a little better, but cheap. I'm not looking to upgrade the head unit, wiring, any other speakers. I just need a system that works properly again. Any improvement in sound quality will be a bonus.

I found these and was wondering if they would do?

I still want the door tweeter to work and don't want to modify the wiring, so would I have to get a different type of speaker?

I assume I also need some sort of spacer. Would this type of MDF job do and what thickness would be required?

Thanks

I still need some cheap (but working) speakers to replace my fronts.

Can anyone help with the question above?

I'm also not sure what happens with the standard, separate tweeter if replacement speakers are fitted.

Thanks
