Warning: Whiteline rear anti roll bar

Featured Replies

Guys,

Just a quick heads up.

I fitted a Whiteline rear anti roll bar (part number BWR20XZ; 24mm) a few months ago and have discovered it is slicing into the fuel tank (LH side of the vehicle). It is not a major bit of damage but it has left an approx 1mm deep gouge in two places; one is caused by the bar and the other is caused by the link bolt.

The bar is the adjustable type (3 position) and I have chosen the middle position for my driving style & use. I had originally wanted the fixed, single position bar but that is no longer available, or so I was told.

During the install I used the supplied link bolts as recommended in the instructions but these are about 20mm longer than the OEM bolts.

The solution for me was to cut the end of the bar back, which does eliminate me ever being able to use the softer (forward most) position, and fitting the OEM bolts.

I have been running this setup since the weekend and will trial for a while to ensure all variations in vehicle loading and road conditions have been experienced before I say the problem is solved.

I will also inform the supplier of this problem.

The only reason I noticed this was I had to regrease the D bushes due to not putting enough grease on originally and they had started to squeek over car park speed humps.

Other than that the bar is great!

To state the very obvious, BE VERY CAREFUL.

Hi,

I understand you frustraions but the best place would be to contact us to see if you have the correct sway bar on your car as there are a few options with these cars being of FWD and AWD plus some other differences.

There would never be a reason to chop our bar it will be either the wrong bar in the kit or wrong bar for the application but either way we have great customer service and a limited lifetime warranty so if we were contacted would do anything to resolve your issue as we always do.

Can you shoot us an email at [email protected] att:Wayne and any attached pictures would help plus the correct make and model of the car plus any other information about this.

We will await your email.

Thanks

UPDATE: All is good again in the world of Skoda!

Whiteline customer service organised the replacement of the fuel tank and bent up a modified bar that does not foul the tank. All done at no cost to me.

Many thanks to Wayne & Dave at Whiteline. I truly appreciate your great support and fast response to rectify the problem. I highly recommend the company and their products.

When I owned an Impreza Turbo, I had a Whiteline ARB and droplinks fitted to the rear axle and the handling improvement was immediately noticeable.

Good to hear Whiteline are a company who value customer feedback and strive to resolve any issues in a professional and timely manner.

Big fan of Whiteline stuff as well , use their stuff on my Evo and my Skyline had a lot of their parts on as well
